SETUP:
Before using this program, you must first install `MUI' (magical user
interface) by Stephan Stuntz. The MUI archive is available at any
Aminet site. Note that MUI, and therefore this program, will only run
on Amiga 2.04 or higher machines.
Other than MUI and AmigaDOS 2.04, findit has no other system dependencies.
Installing this program is as simple as copying the executable to your
favorite utilities directory. It needs no additional support files.

@node Inst "Findit Instructions"
INSTRUCTIONS:
Finding a file of any kind couldn't be easier (although it could be
quicker!) Simply select your search parameters from the main window
and press `hunt'. A list of found files will be built as you watch.
There are three kinds of search parameters. Each of them can be toggled
on or off:
Name: The `Name' parameter referrs to both a file and directory names. Any
standard AmigaDOS pattern can be entered here.
Date: This option, when enabled, allows you to search for file and dirs
that were created/modified before, after, or on the date you
specify. Dates should be entered in dd-mmm-yy format, or simply
enter `today', `yesterday', `tuesday', `tomorrow' (?) etc.
Use the "in last X days" option to search for files created or
modified recently. Entering "0" means search for files created
today, "1" means search for files created yesterday or today,
etc.
Size: When this option is enabled, any file with the size you specify
will qualify. When you specify a size parameter, directories
are not searched for.
Of course, you can combine any of these searches and only files/dirs that
match ALL criteria will be displayed.
It's a fact - some searches take a long time. By selecting "abort" in the
found files window, you can stop the search. Or press the close button
in the files window to stop the search and close the files window. Or
press the close button in the main window to stop the search and quit
the program.
For longer searches, I recommend that you simply iconify the windows while
findit works. Findit will flash the screen and de-iconify itself when the
search is complete.
